Microsoft Reveals Project Natal

This year at E3 Microsoft unleashed its plans for Project Natal (pronounced Nuh-tall). A code name for a wireless gaming experience. Microsoft plans to do this through the sensor device that senses 3d motions in real time. The sensor device for Project natal

With the sensor you will be able to interact almost completely with your Xbox 360. You will be able to navigate through all menus and much more.

One of the technology demos showcased at E3 was a game called "Milo". In which you freely interact with a boy called Milo and his dog. The Technology is shown here.

One thing I notice immediately is the quick responsiveness to the player's voice. I'm almost skeptical. How can this PROTOTYPE have better speech recognition than in the State of the Art cars with speech recognition. But it is on the video.
Another thing I notice is how quickly the Natal device was able to "scan" the image and have it in the game. That was less than a second. This is some truly astounding and breathtaking new technology.
Microsoft boasts Speech recognition, and Real time 3 dimensional sensing. This new technology will be hard to compete against. But Nintendo and Sony wont have to compete anytime soon. This is after all a PROJECT. I really don't see this being fully functional for at least two years, And then of course there is the problem of the price. What is the price range for something like this? My guess is as good as yours at this point. When more information comes out I may be updating on this. But until then, keep speculating.
